Cbank: Net foreign currency sale by exporters rises in August
MOSCOW, Sep 7 (PRIME) -- The net sale of foreign currency by Russian exporters grew to U.S. $7.2 billion in August from $6.9 billion in July, the central bank said in a report on Thursday.
At the same time, the ratio of net foreign currency sales to the foreign currency revenue of the largest exporters excluding the ruble component of the export revenues decreased to 67% in August from 82% in July.
The share of the Chinese yuan grew to a new record of 44.7% from 44%, while the share of the so-called toxic foreign currencies fell to 53.9% from 54.4%. The combined exchange trade in foreign currencies rose to 11 trillion rubles in August, the highest level since February 2022, the central bank said.
